Two Ps

Does Persistent and Perserverance blend together to get the results you want ? Yes, I agree. This applies to how we bought the Kura bed from IKEA Alexandra for Aston a few hours ago.

Persistent - We visited the store twice to buy the bed two mths back but it's out of stock. We were told it will be available for selling around end Feb. I followed up with a few calls to the customer service team a few weeks ago and today to check the available date in the stores. But mummy being a regional inventory planner is sensitive to the delivery dates. Remember it was advised that it'll be available in end Feb and customer service people says 28Feb , 29Feb & early march and one of them told me to call back next week to check again. I was totally confused and quite disheartened with the deviations in date.

Perserverance - Mummy did not give up. Just now at work, I called four times to check the available date. I nearly applied leave on 28Feb to reach the store at 10am to buy. Some will think I am crazy but I really want to buy this bed for Aston. Guess what, I called again around 5pm and I was beaming with smiles. This time customer service people told me the kura bed is available in IKEA Alexandra now and there are 16 beds. I repeat what she told me and happily told daddy must pick us up on time and we make our way to buy the bed around 8pm.

Happy results - Along the journey there, I was quite scared if the beds are not available. What will happen ? Will I scream at the staff or will I complain them for providing wrong information ? Luckily, the beds are available and we are the 3rd person to buy it ! Yeah, we got the bed. We also applied the SMILES Card with our total purchase of S$419.45. The bed will be delivered to us on this Sat between 3pm to 6pm.

My Coffee Princes / 咖啡王子

For a long time mummy did not have the time to watch VCD and finally last two weeks, I completed this nice lighthearted and romantic Korean VCD - 咖啡王子.

Monday Blues

Working adults have Monday blues and I did not know children also have ! Aston for many times whine not to go school on every monday. Reasons can be too tired after all the weekends activities and playing, slept late (quite unlikely becos Aston sleep at 10plus everyday) or like to stay at home play toys or so happen you fall sick. For today, it's very obvious that you whine because you want to play the toy car track you bought last night.

SuperPower Kids at St James Church

Mummy's friend, Aunty Sue recommended me this and told me her two sons like it alot and their behaviours improved alot after attending for several sessions. It's free & mummy thought no harm try it out on you. Daddy agreed to drive us there. We reached promtly at St James Church at 230pm. It's two hour weekly activity and it's very popular among many children. On our way there, you asked who will be there and I feel that you are concerned if you have freinds you know. Oh oh, I realised you may not join the activity if you do not know anyone there. True enough, you shy when Uncle Eric ask you join in the fun. You cling onto us and just watch the children having fun singing, dancing and playing games. You requested to leave and no choice we left at around 3pm. Inside the car on our way home, you told daddy you will join the children next sunday. So I ask you, "will you want to come again next week"? and your reply is "yes, I want to come again next sunday". Good !

English Chess

Mummy is very keen to send you learn English Chess. Learning fee is $150 for 10 weeks for beginners program. I feel that this activity requires sitting down and you have to be focus and concentrated when the teacher teach. This is what we hope you can acheive slowly and cut down on being active and always on the move and jumping around and lose the concentration when doing anything or eventually everything. This may be the activity that promotes good behavioural values and character building.

We are planning to enrol you for March class when the school has moved to Teck Ghee Community Centre located in Ang Mo Kio Ave 10.

Kura Bed

Aston saw this bed at Alrick's place many mths ago and like it alot. You climb up the bed and tried sleeping there and immediately told us you want this bed. At that time, we think you like the bed canopy. We then see this a good chance to train you sleep by yourself. We went to IKEA Tampines look for the bed around end Dec and was told it is out of stock at that time and stock will arrive in early Feb. Then last Tuesday, we made a trip to IKEA Tampines to see if we can buy the bed back, thinking we should be able to buy since it's now MId Feb ; sigh..to our disappointment, the delivery of bed is delayed to Mar3 and there will be 64 beds to allocate. We insisted we need the bed and leave down daddy's name and contact number to reserve the bed. If nothing goes wrong, you will receive your birthday gift from daddy & mummy. KURA Bed !!!!!! A bed that grows with the child; turn upside down to quickly convert the bed from low to high.

Our bedroom is limited in space so the plan is let Charlton & Royston sleep with us while you sleep in another room. As much as we want you sleep on our own in another room, mummy is quite reluctant to part you there. Afterall you sleep with us for coming to 5 yrs, we will miss you. So mummy is aiming this plan to happen , that is put the Kura bed in our room and Charlton & Royston sleep on the lower bed.

March holidays program

March holidays are coming. Daddy has kindly helped to book two tickets for mummy and Aston to watch this show called The Little Red Hen on Mar8 at 330pm.

I heard there is the book and worksheet that can be used for post activity after the show. Mummy will download them from website if I can find it.

These are another few more shows I will like to bring you and will discuss with daddy as need him to drive us there..
1) Act3 Prudential Children First ! Singapore International Festival For Children. Little Big Shots (2 to 6 yr-olds). 1-9March, weekdays 10am and weekend 11am.
May need to absent you from school to attend the weekday show.
2) The Emperor's New Clothes
12Mar-19Apr, weekdays 10am, weekend 11am & 2pm. Plan to go on Apr19 as your birthday treat.

Calls from Aston

Ring ring.........daddy and mummy phones will ring whenever Aston stay at home. For the last two days including today, mummy receive more than 10 calls. Mummy do not feel fan over the numerous calls from you ,unsure about daddy though. You sound so matured and speak so well over the phone. Like just now, you called and told me "mummy, two didi are now sleeping, ah ma kept my toys, I have done some homework and slept a short while". What a detailed update you provided me :), my cute 小 boy !

Personal Hygience

Continue from absent from school. You did not attend school yesterday. Had wanted to send you but decided let you absent because for few reasons. Firstly we woke up late, secondly you wetted the bed not knowing you were diaperless and finally we were rushing to work. So you stayed at home for one more day. Yesterday evening time, we went to your school to attend the K1 orientation by teachers explaining to parents what are the cirriculum , materials used to teach to the children. Halfway, daddy's handphone rang and it was Aston who complain of pain in the penis. We monitor you for the night and this morning you still feel the pain and you are absent from school for the 3rd day. We brought you see doc and he examined you, there are redness and doc says it's infection and prescribe cream to apply. So you see, this is sensitive organ and needs proper cleaning when you bath. What a thing to happen to you if you do not clean properly. I will reinforce to daddy the hygience importance and he must be responsible to teach you clean properly.

Absent from school

Due to suspected HFMD in your school yesterday, we decided to isolate you at home today. We told you school is closed today so you need not attend school. It was a lame reason we had to tell you and not the real one in case you use them not to attend school. You are a smart boy so we are pretty sure you will know to use it. You dread to attend school recently and will come up with 101 reasons not to attend school. So we have to compromise the lame excuse this time & think of ways to explain to you when you are older next time and can understand better.

The moment you know you need not go school, you beam with wide smiles. You are so happy and even praise mummy's wear nice blouse, want ah ma bath you and let you wear nice nice clothes. You behave very well at home today.

Still thinking if you should be absent from schoool tomorrow....

Throw Tandrums

What happen to you lately ? You dislike mummy to raise voice, speak sternly or cane you. But you have to know all these are done because you are too naughty. Softly coaxing or pacifying you will not help. Those naughty things you did recently need fierce discipline else you will not know what are wrong and learn to do them right the next time. Daddy and mummy are parents & you must learn to know we can raise voice and discipline you and you cannot throw temper or tandrums or whine, no matter how you dislike them. All the more you should know and think twice before misbehave. This sounded very difficult for you or for kids to follow. But surely you can understand and we want you to listen to our instructions. Most of the time to the contrary, you will not listen and start to whine. So mummy who is quick tempered and always react faster will not tolerate your rudeness and misbehaviours.

Naughty things raged mummy & daddy.
1. Last Sat, you had haircut at the salon. You meddle with the wall mirror, we told you not to swing it, it will cut your toes if it smash onto the floor. Next is you took the stick roller to roll the hairs and affecting daddy who was having his hair cut at that time , told you to stop and you put away the roller unwillingly and sprout your mouth. The next thing you did was grasp your fist and hit the chair repeatedly for a few times.
2. Today this morning, you insisted to get into the car when it's drizzling. The next thing you did is meddle with the heap of leaves that Mummy was about to sweep away.

Are you superpowerkids ? I am thinking of sending you to attend this on every Sunday.

Helpful

Aston can see how busy mummy is today to take care 3 boys or shld be 4 boys (daddy has bad cold, fever and sore throat). You took your shower after some reminders, drank your milk and ate your lunch and dinner without much fuss. You played toys in the living room and do some paper cuttings. You surprised me. You helped mummy rock Royston in the yao lan, you also helped to play/entertain Charlton when he woke up and started to become crouchy. The next thing you help before you sleep, is help mummy bring some medicines to daddy and the milk recording book to our bedroom. Thanks alot Little Mr Helpful ! *You read a book on Mr Clever this afternoon*

Piano Lesson

A few weeks' ago, Daddy checked out the piano center (PIANOFORTE) at Kovan Center. They start from beginners to grade 8. The lesson fee is $100 for one mth and the lesson duration is 45mins one lesson for every week. It is private teacher one to one to teach the children. I like the venue because it is very near our place and we only need to take 5mins to reach there. Just now, we were shopping for CNY things at level one Shop&Save Supermarket & mummy suggested to bring you there take a look at the place. We decided to let you have trial at 8pm. You like the lessons alot and enjoy what the teacher teach you. You understand the basic music notes and got the worksheets done correctly. We got encouraged so we signed you up and you will start the 1st lesson on 15Feb at 8pm. Mummy & daddy do not know anyting about piano & we are prepared to learn the theories with you. In time to come, we will get you a piano and you can play some simple songs to delight us.
